Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 6 T. butter, chilled
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 T. baking powder
  • 1 T. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. milk

Directions

  1. Grate the butter and set in the freezer for 10-20 min.
  2. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  3. Combine dry ingredients.
  4. Cut the butter into the dry mixture, either with a food processor or a pastry cutter.
  5. Add milk and mix until just combined.
  6. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead a few times. Add a bit more flour if needed to make it easier to handle.
  7. Grease a baking sheet.
  8. Drop dough onto baking sheet in lumps, or flatten the dough with your hands and cut into shapes and then place them on the sheet.
  9. Bake for 10-12 min. or until lightly golden brown.
