French Breakfast Puffs

Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. butter, softened
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 T. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 c. milk

Cinnamon Sugar Tops

  • 1/2 c. butter, melted
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Line muffins tins with paper baking cups. This recipe makes about 1 dozen muffins.
  3. Cream butter and sugar together.
  4. Add and mix in eggs & vanilla.
  5. Add flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and milk.
  6. Mix until combined.
  7. Fill muffin cups almost full.
  8. Bake for about 20 min.
  9. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl.
  10. After taking the muffins out of the oven, dip the top of each one in the melted butter,
  11. Immediately after dipping the muffin top, dip it in the sugar/cinnamon mixture and rotate it around a little to coat the top.
