Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. peanut butter
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 T. baking soda
  • 1/2 T. baking powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 T. vanilla
  • 3 3/4 c. flour
  • Sugar to roll dough balls in
  • Hershey Kisses or chocolate melting wafers, optional

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Cream together butter & peanut butter.
  3. Add sugar and brown sugar and mix thoroughly.
  4. Add baking soda, baking powder, eggs, and vanilla.
  5. Add flour and mix just until everything is uniformly moist.
  6. Shape dough into balls and roll each ball in sugar.
  7. If using Hershey Kisses or chocolate melting wafers, place one in the middle of each dough ball, flattening it slightly.
  8. Otherwise, use the tines of a fork to make crisscross marks and flatten each dough ball slightly.
  9. Bake for about 8 min.
